Starting a new job can cause feelings of anxiety and make you feel inadequate.

1. Relax

Your body is an excellent mirror of your mind and emotions, so if it is tense and anxious, you may be sidelined by your new colleagues. You will be less inclined to familiarize yourself with your new work environment and colleagues because you are withdrawn. So relax. Relax your shoulders. Breathe.

2. Remember why you are here

From the start, remember that you are here because you were chosen from dozens of candidates as the best for this position. Your employers have faith in you and want you to succeed.
Also, remember why you were motivated to get the job. Whether it's for the job description, the challenge, or the value you want to bring to the company, constantly focus on these positive points.

3. Trust the process

In any new job, you put pressure on yourself from the start to do your job well, but know that no one expects you to know everything. When you are faced with something you don't know, you have to be brave enough to tell people that you are still in the process of understanding your environment, adapting to it, and trying to find a solution. Have confidence in yourself and take the time to move forward gradually.

4. Don't compare yourself to others

No one around you is perfect. Everyone has their own strengths, weaknesses, wins, losses, history and potential. Comparing yourself to others and overestimating them compared to what they really are will not get you anywhere.

5. Don't be afraid of novelty

When that part of you that is afraid of the new starts to manifest itself, take a break. Reassure yourself and tell yourself that if you've come this far, it's because you have what it takes to achieve your goals and meet the challenges of the position.
