Information technology is one of the sectors offering the widest variety of new jobs. Many opportunities in quality, logistics and human resources.
From technical sales representative to project manager, including production manager and environmental manager, some jobs are developing due to technological, economic and environmental changes.
Sales: a market that is always in demand
Technical sales representatives, prospectors, travelling sales representatives, business or client managers, product managers or simply sales directors, the demand comes from all sectors and concerns all positions. Overall, this function remains at the forefront of recruitment. Candidates must at least hold a Bac +2 or higher, depending on the position, and have more than two years of experience.
Project Managers (IT, marketing, audit, etc.): development opportunities
The title of project manager applies to all functions (IT, marketing, communication, etc.). The concept of project manager aims to efficiently use available technical and human resources to develop a new service or product within a defined time and budget. It should be noted that experience is essential. This type of position is rarely offered to a beginner because it requires varied skills and developed communication skills. However, it is quite accessible after a first successful experience in development, for example. A few years in this function offer extensive development opportunities: a project manager can be entrusted with increasingly important and complex projects. But they can also choose to become a project director, business engineer, consultant, or even expert... The choice is vast!
Quality: industry and services are recruiting
This profile is increasingly in demand in both industry and services (banks, insurance companies). If their role essentially consists of defining the quality policy, setting standards, raising awareness among staff, tracking failures and correcting the causes of non-quality, their biggest current challenge is to continuously ensure regulatory and normative monitoring of products.
ICT: a wide range of profiles sought
The companies using them: leading the way are banks, multinationals and SMEs. They all need IT and therefore competent people in this field: administrative staff, engineers, technicians. This very large category of companies also includes technical consulting firms, research organisations, government agencies, etc. The internet is also a major job creator to watch. Today, the sector is recruiting many profiles, especially webmasters and graphic designers. However, to develop and integrate more and more functions on their sites, companies will need developers and other jobs in the studies, development and telecommunications sectors. Also to be watched is television, which, becoming interactive, will use IT systems to function, and therefore IT specialists and telecommunications specialists to develop them.
Human resources: the function has improved
This is one of the functions that has created the most specialisations (HR director, training manager, recruitment, skills development, HR development, HR policy director, social affairs director, etc.). The growing importance of this function stems from the changes in the institutional environment, which has pushed companies to comply with stricter social rules. They want profiles that master labour law and are able to accompany change...
Logistics and purchasing: Bac +2 graduates have a chance
The sectors with the highest demand are distribution and industry. A DUT or BTS in logistics and transport is sufficient for the assistant position, but a few years of experience are necessary before accessing the position of manager. Management of logistics is generally entrusted to holders of a Bac +5 diploma: engineering school, DESS logistics or master's degree. The use of IT tools has become common and essential.
Production manager: for engineers
Agriculture, construction and textiles are among the sectors recruiting engineers for maintenance and production. These are people who also have a strong capacity for adaptation.
Environment: a developing niche
Environmental manager, environmental law lawyer, hygiene and cleanliness manager, sustainable development advisor, site treatment operation manager, sanitation project management... jobs related to the environment are very varied. They are developing in the wake of the various problems related to the protection and management of natural resources, the prevention and treatment of pollution and risks, planning and the living environment... Generally, it is the engineering sectors that lead to these jobs (generalist engineer or environmental speciality). These are jobs that require technical knowledge of the sector of activity in question, specific knowledge of hygiene, safety, environment and legislation, a strong sense of persuasion to get the necessary changes accepted, a developed sense of listening, great rigour in terms of monitoring standards and regulations.
