No answer to your application? Here's why.

It's never pleasant to receive a negative response to a job application, or to receive no response at all. However, you shouldn't necessarily take it personally: while frustrating, it often has nothing to do with you. We present some explanations in this article.
Too many resumes
Recruiters sometimes receive hundreds of applications for a single position. In this case, the initial screening alone takes a considerable amount of time. There's a good chance that ideal profiles are in the pile, but most resumes are probably very similar. Under these conditions, it is difficult to respond to each candidate. That's why many companies simply send an automatic email to confirm receipt of your application.

Lack of time
These procedures are very time-consuming, and not all companies have a dedicated recruitment and selection department. Therefore, the person responsible for reviewing resumes and contacting candidates is often a collaborator or manager who has to handle this in addition to their usual tasks. Unfortunately, there is often little time to notify unsuccessful candidates.
Internal changes
New manager, reorganization of departments, changes at the headquarters abroad, disappointing sales figures: many reasons can explain why a job offer is published and then disappears. The selection process then takes a backseat, as do the candidates who have sent a resume.
Reserve list
It can also happen that you only receive a positive response long after applying. Indeed, some recruiters wait for the contract to be definitively signed before notifying other candidates. In this way, they keep the possibility of contacting you if the contract negotiation fails at the last minute.
Poor internal communication
The collaborator who selects resumes assumes that the person in charge of interviews will notify the candidates and vice versa. Indeed, internal communication is not the strong point of all companies. Result: nobody notifies you that you will not be invited for an interview.
