Job Fair Portal, April 16, 2011, at the Cité des Sciences

The 3rd edition of the job fair will be held on April 16, 2011, at the Cité des Sciences, on the initiative of the International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC) and in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training.

This event, which is part of the AIESEC Tunisia activity program for the year 2010-2011, is an opportunity for a meeting between approximately 30 companies and the best talents from major Tunisian schools, indicated the AIESEC manager during a press conference held on Friday in Tunis.

"The job fair" will aim to facilitate access to the job market for students from different higher education sectors, emphasizing their requirements and those of companies in terms of recruitment. Companies will have the opportunity to promote their activities to future graduates, present job and career opportunities, and collect resumes (CVs).

In addition to this event, conferences and a round table on employment nationwide will be led by professionals and influential figures in the field of employment in Tunisia. On the other hand, AIESEC will organize "Career Days 2011" from April 13 to 15, 2011.

These are recruitment fairs that will be organized on the university campuses of Manouba (more than 20,000 students), Sfax, Nabeul, and Sousse, in addition to IHEC (Higher Institute of Commercial Studies of Carthage) (3,000 students), ESSECT (Higher School of Economic and Commercial Sciences of Tunis), and ISG (Higher Institute of Management) (12,000 students).

Mr. Ali Hamdi, director of the National Agency for Employment and Independent Work (ANETI), recalled during his speech the short-term economic and social program adopted by the provisional government, particularly the measures concerning employment. He notably mentioned the exceptional recruitment program in the public service launched by the provisional government, which aims to create 20,000 jobs, in addition to the recovery plan aimed at encouraging companies to make a similar effort to the state (20,000 jobs).

The state, the official specifies, will support 200,000 young people through interventions by the mechanisms of active employment policy, notably the AMEL program for active job searching. The official announced that since the launch of this program, the number of applications has reached 150,000.
