Rekrute.com forges its path

• 95% of job postings are for permanent contracts

• Sales representatives are always in high demand

Rekrute.com has had a successful first year. According to its executives, "the first private job portal dedicated to recruitment in Africa and the 7th in the Francophone world" has completed a year of activity with encouraging figures. With 47,000 registered candidates (36,000 active), 25,000 CVs and 250 recruiters using the portal, Rekrute.com's executives note that their existence "corresponds to a real market need." Employing 10 people, Rekrute.com, which celebrated its first anniversary on February 8th in Casablanca, reports a turnover of nearly 2 million DH. The site claims 5 to 6% of the market, according to Philippe Montant, the site's general manager. The objective of this intermediary between employers seeking the best profiles and candidates seeking the best position "is to help everyone find the right fit."
Going from 50,000 visitors at its launch to three times that number today, Rekrute.com has posted 987 job advertisements (95% for permanent contracts) for more than 3,800 positions. "To date, 92% of recruiters who have used our services have found the desired profile before the end of the 4-week advertisement period. This reduces recruitment time by a factor of three," emphasizes the portal's general manager. Méditel, NABC Coca-Cola, Valeo, Akwa Group, Western Union, Manpower, Webcad, BMCI, Dell and Akzo Nobel are among the advertisers. The outsourcing of these recruitments is mainly for experienced profiles. "30% of the offers concern profiles with 1 to 3 years of experience, while two-thirds of the advertisements target candidates with more than 3 years of experience," explains Montant. Furthermore, half (52%) of the advertisements posted since February 2006 concerned Bac+5 and above, and 36% concerned Bac+3/4. In addition, technical profiles, a rare commodity on the market, are highly sought after. What about the positions? "Unsurprisingly," says the CEO of Rekrute.com, sales representatives lead the recruitment offers with 22% of the advertisements posted. And among the sectors in demand, telecommunications and IT stand out with 12% and 10% respectively. The economic capital, with more than 75% of companies, tops the list of regions with more than 72% of offers. The rest concerned international recruitment. "We have noticed," says Montant, "that many Moroccans living abroad are willing to return on the condition of obtaining a management position," says the head of Rekrute.com.
