Public speaking needs preparation

There is no corporate life without public speaking, without having, at some point, to present a project carried out or to carry out, without being obliged to convince clients or colleagues...

How to succeed in your first public speaking engagement?

No, business schools or engineering schools, Universities do not train in communication techniques, do not teach young post-baccalaureate students how to run a meeting or present their prototype to a range of different interlocutors.
And yet, to "manage your business" well, you need to prepare, both in form and substance.
It is by no means enough to master the substance for the form to follow! Expressing oneself, and doing it well, is an art in itself, which has its own techniques and tricks to know.

All coaches agree today that it is necessary to immediately convey the central message, while respecting to the letter the famous "4 C rule":
- Keep it short,
- Keep it clear,
- Keep it coherent,
- Keep it concise.

In terms of the internal structure of the oral presentation, it will be a question this time of the "inverted pyramid" rule, namely that the speech will answer the questions:
-who?
-what?
-when?
-where?
-why?
-how?

In summary, the proposed message must be able to be summarized in two or three key phrases and attract the attention of the public by relating to it the interest of the subject presented.

Let us also quickly recall that active listening does not last more than ten minutes and that it is advisable to punctuate your speech with examples, stories, anecdotes, or even jokes...

Finally, since the last words are the ones that remain in memory, it is essential to choose them intentionally, strong and striking.
