What are Moroccans' Expectations Regarding Training?

ReKrute has unveiled the results of a unique survey that assesses the habits and expectations of Moroccans regarding training.

For the first time in Morocco, ReKrute, the leading employment portal in the kingdom, conducted a nationwide study to evaluate the habits of Moroccans in terms of training. This survey, which indicates that Moroccans increasingly wish to benefit from training to adapt their skills to the job market, now makes it possible to know precisely the perception that individuals have of training and their motivations for this practice.

Carried out online from a sample of 50,000 people, representative of the Moroccan workforce, the study received a very favorable welcome and collected nearly 3,000 responses. 44% of respondents have a Bac +5 degree and half have a professional experience level of between 1 and 10 years.

Commenting on the study, Alexandra Montant, Deputy Managing Director of ReKrute, stated: "The job market requires each individual to regularly update or supplement their skills. For a reorientation, a gain in responsibility or simply support for the evolution of a function, a person must be in perpetual training."

72% of Moroccans believe that training is essential

A large majority of respondents (56%) have followed between 1 and 3 training courses in the last 12 months, including 26% personally. This enthusiasm is explained by the fact that companies very regularly offer training to their employees to develop their skills. However, the study indicates that self-training is not a negligible phenomenon.

72% of those surveyed stated that they perceive training as a necessity, which proves that the notion of training is now integrated by a large part of the active population in Morocco. The main motivational factors are: the possibility of expanding one's skills (52%), the prospect of a better job (36%), obtaining a supplementary diploma (12%).

1 in 5 Moroccans wants to train in personal development

The first interest cited is deepening one's profession (28%), then mastering a foreign language (23%) and finally mastering IT software (13%). 1 in 5 active Moroccans is thus aware of the importance of "soft skills" and expresses real expectations in terms of personal development. The most sought-after training courses for deepening a profession are management (21%), communication (17%), sales (12%), marketing and finance (11% each).

89% of Moroccans plan to train online

One of the most significant results of the study concerns the attractiveness of new technologies among Moroccans who wish to train. 89% of respondents plan to train online, remotely, and 70% are willing to pay for it. Among the latter, 67% plan to obtain a certificate attesting to the training followed and the level obtained.

Because it offers a more flexible framework and saves time, online training is now the most popular solution among Moroccans. The market must therefore adapt to this demand and offer solutions at attractive prices and with quality content.
