"Intangible capital and investment in education are two important levers for building the future," affirmed the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training.
Intangible capital and investment in education are key levers to capitalize on the Kingdom's significant achievements in various sectors and move towards building a better future, stated Rachid Belmokhtar, Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, on Saturday in Marrakech.
Speaking at the regional forum on education and training held on "intangible capital," the minister indicated that the efforts and strategies deployed have led to significant results in terms of intangible capital, exceeding 60% of the Kingdom's wealth between 2000-2013. This places the Kingdom in a good position compared to other countries.
Intangible capital is of particular interest in the development and orientation of public policies, he said, emphasizing that this new concept is closely related to knowledge, expertise, good governance, justice, and social capital, which consists of cohesion and trust between individuals to work together and achieve the desired objectives.
Regarding education, the minister affirmed that the pedagogical system must make the school a breeding ground for citizens with the necessary skills and human values that enable them to fully play their roles in the country's development. To achieve this, it is first necessary to set up the necessary mechanisms to develop efficient programs and pedagogical methods capable of ensuring appropriate training that meets the needs of the market.
Addressing the issue of unemployment, Rachid Belmokhtar explained that the market has great employment potential, and the problem lies in the mismatch between profiles and training and the skills required for jobs available in many sectors.
For his part, the Wali of the Marrakech-Tensift El Haouz region, Abdessalam Bikrat, ensured that the quality of the skills of human resources constitutes the real challenge of development. Whatever projects are launched and their scope, results will only be achieved with qualified human resources, a guarantee of efficiency and good management, he said.
For his part, the president of the Federation of Parents of Students in the Marrakech region, Noureddine El Akkouri, called for abandoning "defeatist discourse," considering the future with optimism and being confident in the rising generation and the capacity of public school to assume its role as a lever of development. Debate and reflection should focus on improving the efficiency of the education system and ways to make it a central player in development strategies, he said.
On this occasion, Rachid Belmokhtar visited the "Abi Houraira" primary school, where he inquired about the initiatives taken by the teaching staff to make this institution a model of public school that fully fulfills its mission of training and education.
Organized by the regional academy of education and training (AREF) of Marrakech Tensift El Haouz in partnership with the Ibn Taymia preparatory classes center of Marrakech, the national federation of parents of students, the Marrakech Forum presents a series of themes related to the issue of training.
Experts, economic operators, and university researchers took turns at the podium of this meeting to give their testimony on the pedagogical system and discuss the challenges of training in Morocco.
