Success Stories: highlighting inspiring journeys

ReKrute innovates with its Success Stories concept, an initiative that celebrates exemplary careers and highlights leaders who inspire today's and tomorrow's talents.

Through this format, ReKrute aims to highlight the person behind the success, share inspiring experiences, and offer a space for knowledge sharing between generations.

For this edition, we had the pleasure of speaking with Fedoua Ikkez, Human Resources Director of Ciments du Maroc Group – Heidelberg Materials, who shares a sincere, human, and meaningful testimony.

Background & Inspirations

What has always guided me is a deep passion for people and for my profession.
Since my return to Morocco in 2000, I have had the opportunity to grow within large international companies such as Nestlé, Danone, Stellantis, and today the Ciments du Maroc Group – Heidelberg Materials.

At each step, I have integrated complex and demanding environments, where human issues were at the heart of transformations. These experiences have allowed me to develop a strategic vision of human resources, based on the conviction that HR is not just a support function, but a real lever for performance and transformation.

My role has always been to support changes, create connections, unite people around meaningful projects, and develop talents in a sustainable way.

Today, more than ever, I believe that HR has a key role to play in building more human, more agile, and more responsible organizations.

Vision & Leadership

What qualities, in your opinion, are essential to move into management positions?

To move into management positions and, above all, to succeed there: more than technical skills or professional expertise is needed.

First and foremost, a clear vision, courage in decisions, and the ability to unite people are required.
Then, two types of intelligence:
• Emotional intelligence is fundamental: it allows us to gain perspective, manage tensions, and create a lasting climate of trust.
• Situational intelligence, on the other hand, is essential for adapting to changing contexts, adjusting, and making the right decisions at the right time.

Finally, I deeply believe that humility, the ability to learn continuously, and to help others grow are the marks of authentic and human leadership.

Advice for Young Professionals

What advice would you give to a young person starting today in the Moroccan job market?

The advice I would give to a young person starting out would be to dare to build their own path with curiosity, humility, and perseverance.

As Human Resources Director, I have had the chance to support many talents in their professional development.

And looking back, I can say that technical skills are important, but it is above all human qualities like listening, adaptability, the will to surpass oneself, and the ability to collaborate that make the difference.

The Moroccan market is rich in opportunities, but it requires rigor, resilience, and true consistency.

I advise young people to stay true to their values, to continue learning, and to seek meaning in what they do.

Every encounter can open a door, and every experience is a learning opportunity.

Finally, be patient. The professional journey is not always linear, but with passion, rigor, and a positive attitude, it becomes meaningful and full of great opportunities.

Transmission & Impact

How would you like to inspire the next generation?

I would like to inspire this new generation by modestly reminding them that true leadership lies not in power, but in the positive impact we leave behind.

I deeply believe that every young person can become a catalyst for change, provided they are given the means to believe in themselves.

My role, as HR Director, is to instill this confidence, to create spaces where one can learn without fear, and where failure becomes a step towards progress.

Because it is by cultivating rigor, consistency, and integrity that we manage to build a meaningful and sustainable professional path.
