The Achourouk newspaper announced on Sunday, May 18, that the framework agreement signed by the various parties concerning the start of negotiations on salary increases in the private sector will affect some two million employees.
An agreement was reportedly reached to set salary increases at 6%, with a 10 dinar increase in the travel allowance.
These discussions are part of the effort to combat the deterioration of the purchasing power of employees and civil servants. In this regard, the social negotiations would involve 700,000 public sector agents and executives.
These negotiations will not drag on, according to the Secretary General of the UGTT, Houcine Abassi, and will lead to a "respectable" increase in the purchasing power of employees, which has suffered from the price increases that the Troika governments were never able to control.
