Specialized in car wiring, Yazaki announced that it is keeping its promises and plans to create thousands of jobs in Tunisia. Fernando Castro, director of operations for the Japanese group, stated that Yazaki's initial program aims to reach 5200 jobs, for workers and managers, within the company. However, this objective depends on the improvement of the country's social security conditions.
During the visit on Thursday, February 28, of the Japanese ambassador to Tunis, to the group's headquarters, Mr. Castro specified that Tunisia is par excellence a country that benefits from preferential advantages: "This country holds a priority in investment programs."
Established since 2009 in Gafsa, the Yazaki group has invested around 35 million dinars. The group currently employs 1028 people, workers and managers, compared to 2540, workers and managers, in 2011, spread across the production units located in Gafsa, Oum Laarayas and Metlaoui.
