Your interview was unsuccessful, ask for feedback!

"Unfortunately, we cannot give a favorable response to your application for position X". Everyone has received this kind of email at some point; it's not pleasant, but you should try to learn from it for future success.
ReKrute.com offers some advice to turn this setback into a strength.

Don't hesitate to ask for explanations:

Sometimes, the recruiter will call to tell you that you haven't been selected. Take the opportunity to ask for feedback on what could have been detrimental. This will help you avoid repeating the same mistakes in the future.
If, on the other hand, the recruiter has sent you an email to announce the bad news, don't hesitate to contact them.

If you still don't understand despite the recruiter's explanations, feel free to ask for examples to better understand their comments.

Avoid arguing too much:

When the recruiter gives their opinion, there's no point in arguing, as the decision has already been made and they won't change it. Besides, you may not necessarily agree with what they say. The best thing to do is to listen, take notes, and then reflect to better understand their criticism.

Don't give up:

Following a negative response, you shouldn't give up. Sometimes, the choice comes down to a small detail. This doesn't make you incompetent or uninteresting; it just wasn't your time.
And be sure of one thing: there will always be similar positions. It's up to you to learn from the feedback the recruiter gave you and use it to your advantage in the future.
