1073 Tunisian aid workers recruited abroad

The Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT) placed 1073 Tunisian aid workers as of May 31, 2015. 83% were placed in Arab countries, compared to 1031 during the same period in 2014.
According to a press release issued Friday by the Agency, recruitment focused on education, with 432 aid workers (including 170 university professors), representing 40.2% of placements. The health sector followed with 341 recruits.
Saudi Arabia was the top recruiter of Tunisian skills, with 359 aid workers (33.4% of the total), followed by Qatar (187) and Kuwait (153).
48 recruitment committees visited Tunisia to interview candidates and assess available human resources.
Furthermore, under bilateral and trilateral cooperation, 13 Tunisian experts conducted technical assistance missions. 12 experts participated in a campaign against curable blindness in Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, and Mozambique. One expert led a training session on fishing in Oman.
The Agency also organized three training sessions in Tunisia for 27 managers from 10 African countries in teaching and project management.
As of May 31, 2015, a total of 16,384 Tunisian aid workers and experts were working abroad. The ATCT candidate database contained 29,374 registered candidates.
