You can't remember the name of the last book you read? You never know where you put your keys? No worries! Your brain is just experiencing a little slump. To boost your memory, you need to exercise. Our tips to be at the top.
1) Learn
And no, the privilege of learning is not reserved only for middle school students, high school students and other students. To boost your brain, the best thing is to train yourself to memorize everyday things: the phone numbers you need most, for example, song lyrics, the office alarm code...
2) Sleep
We can't repeat it enough, sleep is essential for concentration and memorization. It is indeed while you sleep that your brain classifies all the information absorbed during the day. Thus, when you sleep poorly or little, your memories are disturbed.
3) Eat a balanced diet
A healthy and varied diet plays a major role in brain function. However, the common belief that fish is the key food for good memory is not an absolute truth. Certainly fish is rich in phosphorus, but like many other foods (meats in particular...) and it is indeed good for the brain but no more than for the rest of the body! Note: the blueberry, thanks to its phytonutrients, is particularly recommended for memory.
4) Play
Scrabble, belote, chess, checkers, strategic board games, crosswords, are all thinking activities that can help you maintain your brain and memory. And why not start a game of Memory with your children or your little nephews who ask you for it so often?
5) Mnemonic techniques
From a young age, we are taught to use roundabout ways to remember the most complex principles (remember the famous "but where is Ornicar" or the more mathematical SOHCAHTOA). So why not apply it to everyday life? It's up to you to be inventive!
6) Monitor your health
Beware of stress, overwork and small depressions that promote forgetfulness and greatly impair concentration and learning. Stay zen thanks to relaxation methods such as yoga, massage or sophrology.
7) Avoid certain substances
Limit your consumption of alcohol and tobacco (which alters the activity of certain brain receptors), and stimulants such as tea and coffee that impair concentration.
8) Tidy up
Organize your ideas and prioritize your priorities. And above all, remember to write them down! Post-its on the refrigerator, diary, notepad, reminders on your phone will be your best allies.
