Integrating a team, managing interpersonal relationships that also determine our career, requires some behavioral adjustments...
Know how to set aside your opinion
We don't always agree with our colleague or manager. That's true. It's not always easy to be humble enough not to try to win the discussion, to prove we're right, to share and express our ideas, to compromise, or even make a few small sacrifices... Yet, it's necessary, let's be honest about it. It's necessary to avoid getting bogged down in petty conflicts, useless chatter, and pointless arguments. Knowing how to behave like an adult, to keep quiet when you want to speak, to speak calmly when you want to shout, that's also how you safeguard your well-being, your career, and that of the company...
Stay constructive
Of course, in the workplace as elsewhere, frustrations caused by human and relational factors are numerous and it is often difficult to control one's anger and/or feelings of injustice. However, remember that dwelling on the negative will not get you anywhere... Stay positive. Change your perspective. Ask yourself how you can make the most of a difficult, embarrassing situation. There is necessarily a lesson or a positive aspect to be found beneath the bug.
Adopt an open policy
Absolutely avoid taking sides in a conflict that does not concern you. Once the conflict is over, only one thing will be remembered: you interfered. This attitude stems from a good intention, but it will undoubtedly only lead to bad things... Listen, remain neutral, open, and carefully avoid judging. Misunderstandings are quickly apparent and too often create latent conflicts that pollute relationships and deeply harm the smooth running of the work.
Act, yes. React, no.
Nothing is more harmful than operating on impulse, emotion, and at the office. Learn to analyze your emotions and work with a sense of detachment and reflection. There is no point in making enemies. The more appreciated you are in the company, the better your career will be. And you, by the same token... Boosting a career is also a matter of human feedback...
