How to Write a Great Cover Letter

A good cover letter is an asset, provided it is well done: short, error-free, well-written, personalized, and adapted to the job posting. It should highlight the candidate's strengths in relation to the position and show that the candidate has taken the initiative to "tailor-make" their application. It is indeed very unpleasant for a recruiter to feel like they are part of a mass mailing or that the applicant has not read the job posting...
Today, especially in recruitment firms, cover letters are kept to a minimum, due to the widespread use of electronic applications. Faced with this phenomenon, a "classic" cover letter that respects the conventions can help you stand out, provided the applicant's profile matches the job posting.
Therefore, the letter should include, among other things, a polite introduction, the candidate's current situation ("employed" or not), their geographical mobility, the coherence between their profile and the job offer, their motivations... Not respecting all these rules will work against the candidate. And above all, do not fall into caricature or try to be humorous, unless you are gifted in this kind of exercise!
