First Arab Conference on Youth Employment

Morocco presents its employment experience at the first Arab Conference on Youth Employment in Algiers.
The 1st Arab Conference on Youth Employment opened its proceedings on Sunday in Algiers, with the participation of several Arab countries, including Morocco. During this three-day meeting, attended by representatives of governments, civil society and youth organizations in the Arab world, Morocco will present its experience in employment. The indicators of the Moroccan labor market, the 2009-2012 development plan, which provides for the creation of 230,000 jobs for young graduates, the economic and sectoral approach to employment promotion, the assessment of contractual training, the "Moukawalati" program and the restructuring of the Anapec, are the main points that will be developed at this conference, according to the Moroccan delegation. The Moroccan delegation is composed of Ali El Ghanbouri, advisor to the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Ajaraam Samir, head of the employment promotion division at the ministry, Hamid El Ferg, director of Anapec-Marrakech and Jamal Naciri of the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT). This meeting is part of the implementation of the recommendations of the last Arab Economic and Social Summit in Kuwait, during which the Arab Employment Pact was approved, which aims to reduce unemployment by 50% and increase productivity by 10% in the Arab world by 2020, said Sima Bahouth, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League for Social Affairs, during the opening session.
