How to (Re)build Self-Confidence?

Having self-confidence means, first of all, knowing yourself well, believing in your potential and abilities. This confidence is acquired through real inner security, affirmation of your needs, acquisition of skills and the famous recognition by others. Conversely, lack of self-confidence manifests itself through a multiplicity of feelings such as shyness and lack of assurance.

How to activate or reactivate this self-confidence, which allows you to surpass yourself and be fulfilled at work?

1. Visualize specific situations.
Since it is proven that our brain confuses and associates real and virtual, it is good to project yourself, through thought, into specific situations, whether they are successful (this will motivate them and, perhaps even, create them) or failure (this will allow you to better understand them if they were to occur).
Visualizing makes accessible, believable, possible. Therefore real, in the short, medium or long term…

2. Decipher your successes.
Think back to your successes, dissect their positive causes and highlight your related talents. Indeed, know how to make the link between your strengths and your successes. Learn to value your actions with others, but also and above all, with yourself! Remember your successes. Don't leave them aside, mentally, as soon as they are achieved. Relive them, revive them often to increase your confidence. And therefore your potential.

3. Take a step back.
Never be reactive. Never react in the moment. Force yourself to take an emotional distance from various events and emotions before acting and reacting. Take the time to digest information and emotions in order to be able to show more clairvoyance, lucidity and understanding. In other words, it is a question of reviewing your emotional journey in thought in order to prevent it from having a negative impact on you and your future actions.

4. Relativize.
There is no need to put pressure on yourself, to go as far as "depression" to do well and do it well. Consider, for example, that a new mission is not synonymous with anxiety but rather with new teachings, new skills, soon to be acquired, and broadening your professional horizons. This will allow you to consolidate your skills and feel better and better in your professional space. "Your life is not at stake," remember. You have already overcome problematic situations in the past. You can do it again. Even better. And with increased self-confidence.

5. Reward yourself.
Our brain needs triumphs but also trophies. Offer them to it! Reward yourself, reward yourself when you are proud of your actions! A gift, an outing, it doesn't matter, but mark the success. This is also part of those actions that increase self-esteem.
