The Moroccan economy created 21,000 jobs between 2013 and 2014. This resulted from the creation of 27,000 urban jobs and a loss of 6,000 rural jobs, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) announced.
Thus, the volume of employment increased from 10,625,000 jobs in 2013 to 10,646,000 in 2014, the HCP specified in a briefing note on the labor market situation in 2014.
It also noted that with an increase in the working-age population greater than that of the employed active population, the employment rate fell by 0.5 points nationally from 43.8% to 43.3%, showing a decrease from 36.4% to 35.9% in urban areas and from 55.2% to 54.7% in rural areas.
