How to be happy at work? Is there a method? An instruction manual? Certainly not. However, there are some essential tips, here are a few...
1. Think positive
Knowing how to be and stay positive is the result of constant self-effort and work. Managing to think that you will indeed complete this thorny file, not being too sensitive to the various setbacks of the day, knowing how to take and understand criticism from the right side, being able to distance yourself from hallway gossip to maintain your inner peace and avoid toxic colleagues, that's doing the maximum to be positive!
2. Strengthen your strengths
Doing good work; here lies the key to professional fulfillment. So, how to do it? Strengthen your strengths rather than trying to improve your weaknesses! If you are gifted in a field, show it, use your talent, make it your trademark, your signature, build your image around this gift, this skill. This will strengthen your self-confidence but also your potential.
3. Dare to be yourself
Who has never answered "yes" when they wanted to say "no"? We have all experienced this: saying "yes", accepting to not displease, to not disappoint, to not lose the esteem of, to prove that one is up to, to please, to avoid conflict.... We have all worked for others, we have all known thankless tasks. Yes. Now, it's time to dare to be yourself, to not be overwhelmed with work. Be proactive, dare to say, speak up more often, don't remain prostrate hoping that someone will come to ask for you. Don't wait for someone to find you for a position or training either. Take the initiative. With accuracy, politeness and wisdom.
4. Build relationships
No one has ever succeeded in flourishing in society or in a company by evolving alone. And, in a company, even more so than elsewhere, solitude is to be avoided. Take the time to build relationships, to reach out to others, to talk to them and discover them a little. Don't spend your time sending emails. It's better to talk directly to the person concerned, if this person is in a small perimeter. Say hello in the hallways, take five minutes of your time to talk at the coffee machine, while drying your hands under the machine, at the garage door... It makes the work atmosphere so much more pleasant!
5. Laugh
Laughing is good for everything. We know it. Good for the body and mind. So, joke, smile, laugh, as much as you can, if you can! Dopamine (pleasure hormone), serotonin (good mood), oxytocin (social bonding) and adrenaline (excitement) are indeed hormones released during moments of joy and offer the individual a sense of well-being, which helps them in their personal development and increases their motivation and efficiency. Everything you need to be even better!
