Changing jobs! Where to start? Who to contact? It seems like a real obstacle course, and yet, good organization will save you time and efficiency.
Here are a few tips to help you find the right job and, why not, land it!
Re-evaluate yourself:
First of all, do some introspection, take stock of everything that's bothering you, why you want to change jobs, what you're missing? Or what can you no longer stand in your current position?
Asking yourself these questions will first allow you to take stock and better determine your desires: what responsibilities do you want to have? What salary would suit you? You will thus be able to better target your searches.
Organize your time for the search:
Looking for a new job takes time, especially if you are already employed. You must therefore free up time because if you only do this when you have nothing to do, you are not ready to move! Plan time slots and conduct your searches regularly.
Be visible online:
If you are available for a job, let it be known. Put your CV online, make yourself visible on social networks and update your profile. Regularly specify information to highlight according to the direction you want to give to your search. Don't hesitate to add keywords (profession, sector of activity, specialty...), this will allow recruiters to easily discover your profile. Save time by using email alerts, this will allow you to receive in real time all the job offers that interest you.
Get headhunted:
In addition to being visible online, send your CVs to recruitment agencies, generalists or specialists, to be listed in their database. Don't hesitate to build friendly relationships with them; knowing you will allow them to better understand your aspirations.
Use your network:
Contact your former colleagues, your former classmates, they can always give you information about a possible position. Let them know that you are also looking for a job, make some phone calls while remaining subtle, of course, you don't want the news to reach your superior's ears.
Send unsolicited applications:
Start by making a list of companies that interest you, then find the names of the people to contact and personalize your application according to the position you are applying for. That said, patience is key, as the position is clearly not going to open necessarily at the time you apply.
Refine your CV:
Highlight the elements that you consider essential for the position in question. Opt for a clear layout, short text and readable construction. This way, you increase your chances of attracting the recruiter's attention.
