Recruitment firms are true partners in professional development for candidates. They're particularly helpful for companies searching for talent. These firms continue to grow in Morocco, benefiting from a job market that's increasing the recruitment of diverse profiles.
Interview with Joséphine Syren – Director of Syren Personal Development
1. Briefly describe your firm.
I am Joséphine Syren, a consulting psychologist and the firm's director. The firm is based in Tangier and offers skills assessments (internal and external recruitment), but mostly coaching and skills assessments for individuals.
2. Do you need to be a high-potential executive to interest a recruitment firm?
In my opinion, yes, you need to stand out from the crowd. But the good news is that anyone can become a high-potential executive with some self-reflection and personalized support. The keys are (among others) self-awareness, knowledge of one's skills and abilities, motivation, aspirations, self-confidence, and realism.
3. What advice would you give to candidates?
- Learn to know yourself (through questioning your environment, self-awareness exercises, or professional coaching),
- Learn to highlight your unique qualities using effective communication tools (CV, cover letter, interview preparation),
- Position yourself as someone offering skills, not someone asking for a job (and be able to prove it!),
- Dare to interact with your interviewer: being assertive shows authenticity and motivation. It also helps reduce stress in an "artificial" situation where the candidate has to "talk about themselves,"
- Prepare some real situations encountered in a company (or elsewhere for beginners) that you had to deal with, as well as concrete actions supporting the qualities you want to highlight. What interests the recruiter is not what you think you are or see, but your actions.
