If we were to caricature the Company, we would say that in the past, for the employer, know-how was paramount, it outweighed everything else. Today, this conception of the ideal employee has evolved somewhat. We also talk about "know-how"... So what are these "new" skills/qualities so sought after by employers?
1. Adaptability.
It seems that the most appreciated quality in 2012 is the one that best reflects the image of the current world, a world of technology and markets, a constantly evolving work environment: adaptation. Every worker is led, closely or distantly, to adapt to continuous changes.
2. The ability to improve.
A program that is not regularly updated is less efficient than recent software. The same is true for the worker. The latter must adapt, learn continuously, improve, and improve throughout his career. Laziness is to be avoided and goodwill to be preserved.
3. Diversification skills.
Today, it is no longer just a matter of mastering knowledge. It is about developing and, above all, perfecting them, complementing them, pursuing one's learning in completely different areas. Work in a company requires the accomplishment of increasingly diverse tasks. Being versatile is undoubtedly one of the most prized qualities.
4. Anticipation skills.
Even if, beyond your delimited and precise task, no other mission has been entrusted to you, it is advisable to take advantage of your quiet moments to show initiative and to anticipate future tasks to be performed, to take into consideration the needs and shortcomings that you have identified.
5. Integration skills.
It is no longer possible today to go it alone. Teamwork is essential and this applies to both employees and managers. It is no longer possible to remain alone in front of one's computer, to isolate oneself from others and their opinions and comments.
6. Communication skills.
This quality is an integral part of the ability to work in a team. Communication - oral or written - is, in fact, the channel through which everything will circulate, whether information or energy. Mastering the different tools of modern communication is therefore essential. Also learn to communicate well, that is, for example, to always be as clear and concise as possible, especially by email.
7. Emotional management skills.
Teamwork requires good emotional management. Knowing how to control one's emotions in delicate situations, stress, pressure, conflict, is a highly appreciated quality, as it allows for the best possible resolution of problems encountered within the team.
8. Leadership skills.
Increasingly, employers want to find workers who are not only able to communicate well but also to mobilize, motivate, and even lead a team in an intelligent, skillful, and effective manner.
