Dear Members,
For many of you, it's back-to-work week, often with numerous and ambitious resolutions that are quickly abandoned... So we suggest seven realistic resolutions to follow to best manage your career and... stay in shape.
1 – I stay informed about my company
What are my company's results, what is the economic climate in my sector and profession? It is important to stay informed about these questions to avoid unpleasant surprises at the end of the year (restructuring, change of functions, economic dismissal, job cuts, etc.) and to anticipate career changes.
2 – I set goals
Why not take advantage of the new year to review your goals? Did you have any innovative ideas this summer about new clients to win, new markets to approach, a reorganization of your department, etc.? Take this opportunity to clarify them. Of course, it's not about setting unrealistic goals, but simply about being a clear and realistic source of proposals for yourself and your superior.
3 – I cultivate my network
Nowadays, it is essential to be present and active on social networks. It is not enough to have a profile on Viadeo and LinkedIn and a Facebook, Google+ and Twitter account, you need to increase the number of contacts and/or friends and regularly update these social networks.
4 – I manage my time effectively
There's nothing like the new year to try to better manage your work time and leave the office earlier to enjoy your family. To do this, it's important to ask yourself the right questions: Have I chosen a job that respects my personal rhythms? Does my company uphold the values I approve of? Does my job give me pleasure? The new year is the ideal time to take stock of yourself before falling into the infernal cycle of activity.
5 – I eat a balanced lunch
No more sandwiches and pizzas, and make way for balanced meals that will help you stay in shape. Avoid eating in front of your computer as much as possible: besides the crumbs accumulating on your keyboard, a lunch break is necessary, if only to take your eyes off the screen. It can also be a way to chat informally with colleagues and to strengthen ties and even sometimes solve some problems.
6 – I exercise
This is often the first New Year's resolution that is abandoned the fastest... Especially if you have planned this activity in the evening after work... Because of a meeting that drags on, the youngest child to pick up from school, or the shopping to do to fill the fridge... Try to schedule a sports activity early in the morning (nothing like a swim to start the day) or during your lunch break. But above all, the most important thing is to choose an activity that you really enjoy. So, forget jogging if it's like torture for you, or crowded gyms with loud music. Think yoga, karate, badminton, volleyball, or any other activity and have fun!
7 – I regularly consult ExeKutive.biz...
