New Year's Resolutions

For some, resolutions don't last past the beginning of the year. Work isn't an end in itself; employees want to dedicate more time to their personal lives. The fight against stress, a shared concern.
It's a constant. Like every beginning of the year, many find themselves dreaming of a new life, both personally and professionally. Not that they expect luck to smile on them, but they decide to take initiatives in a number of areas to achieve it. These are the famous New Year's resolutions. Looking in the rearview mirror, we realize that there are behaviors, a state of mind, or shortcomings that have contributed to slowing down a career or making life less brilliant than we hope.
But while some manage to seriously translate their resolutions into clear objectives to get rid of what they consider gaps, others no longer care beyond the first few months, either for lack of motivation or because they are convinced that the environment is not favorable. Moreover, this second hypothesis was verified in 2009, a year particularly marked by the economic and financial crisis which did indeed lead to negative consequences for Morocco, even if the intensity was less strong than in Europe or America. Faced with uncertainty, and anxious to preserve their jobs, many put their ambitions on hold, particularly in terms of remuneration or training, for budgetary reasons beyond their control. Not to mention that it took a lot of effort to achieve the objectives, or approach them, given the context, with sometimes significant implications for family life.
Therefore, for the year that has just begun, the testimonies collected and observations from human resources consultants or human development specialists indicate that these classic frustrated goals (improving financial situation, obtaining a diploma, balancing private and professional life...) are being revisited.
Achieving objectives also depends on the employer's attitude
The managers interviewed also want to better organize themselves by delegating. They are thus striving to free up more time to think about the company's development strategy or to better dedicate themselves to ongoing projects. The purpose of such a choice is to be more efficient by better managing stress, this scourge of the century that continues to wreak havoc. Sport is also an excellent way to remedy it. This is how many have decided to resume or start it. And that's not all. Enjoying life, being closer to their children, discovering new horizons, learning a few common household chores like cooking to be more independent, quitting smoking... The list of good intentions is endless. As long as you are your own boss, it is quite possible to achieve some of them. On the other hand, it is different for an employee.
Therefore, it is up to companies to give them a helping hand. Shouldn't their leaders dream of a better work environment that is a source of productivity? To do this, they need to better organize themselves. "With all things being equal, modern management makes the difference. Leaders who mobilize with great aggressiveness, who adequately manage priorities, who mobilize the necessary energy to put in place well-structured organizations and clear operating rules, who exercise good leadership and who recruit the right profiles based on good job descriptions, achieve tangible results," explains Slim Kabbaj, president of the IS Force firm, who also advocates that 2010, if not the entire decade that is beginning, be dedicated to service quality and customer satisfaction. In his opinion, this is a fundamental competitiveness factor that bosses neglect or ignore. The solution: train, motivate and reassure.
