Personal Integrity

It is essential for survival. If we harm ourselves directly or indirectly, we disintegrate. Any harm we inflict on ourselves attracts negative consequences in our lives or in the lives of others.
It is therefore important to take care of oneself and one's environment, regardless of moral considerations, taking into account the effects of one's actions. To do this, it is necessary to be aware of the different areas of this integrity and the elements that constitute them. For example: in the area of physical integrity, if I wear shoes that hurt my feet, I harm my integrity. Integrity also implies strict adherence to a code of moral values. It also implies that we are honest in our work. This integrity must be reflected in our relationships with our clients and colleagues and in the decisions we make on a daily basis.
• Collective Integrity
Humans have learned that when they agreed on codes of conduct or on what was right, they survived, and when they didn't, they didn't. That is why, when individuals associate, they always write a long series of agreements on what is moral (in other words, what contributes to survival) and what is immoral (what harms survival). According to these definitions, morality consists of those things that are considered, at a given time, to be criteria for survival. An action of survival is a moral action. And the things that are considered immoral are those that harm survival.
• Examples of breaches of integrity
- Not keeping a commitment
- Taking credit for an impulsive purchase
- Not being authentic
- Not telling the truth
- Not being in line with one's values
- Not being aware of the fact that one does not escape the consequences of one's actions
- Leaving unresolved situations pending that risk creating a "boomerang" effect
