Nothing replaces setting a good example. To encourage team members to be supportive, it is important to give the impulse. First and foremost by leading by example, by lending a hand to colleagues whenever the opportunity arises or by organizing joint commercial events. Employees must also clearly perceive that the manager is particularly committed to creating team spirit. This can involve transforming the latter into a criterion for awarding bonuses, but also through a generally positive attitude. A good work atmosphere is of course essential. Put a stop to negative behaviors: mockery, the formation of cliques, accusations, etc.
Each team member must feel that they have a role to play, just like their colleagues, so that everyone wants to participate in the department's life. To promote cohesion, organizing challenges is a technique that has also proven its worth. Be careful, however, to define achievable objectives, otherwise you risk generating general demotivation. If these objectives are achieved, do not hesitate to warmly congratulate the entire team. To develop team spirit, it is also important to increase the number of group exchange moments. Outside of the formal meeting points that meetings represent, the manager can simply organize a break taken together, which facilitates exchanges.
