- LinkedIn significantly down in Morocco

Internet and major job boards have become almost essential for recruiters and anyone looking for new career opportunities.
The basic job of an employment portal is to generate an audience so that job offers and other HR information posted online by recruiters in the market are visible to candidates wishing to change jobs.
To compare employment portals, you need to compare their traffic and audience. Taking one without the other doesn't really make sense. However, many remain generalists, mainly targeting executives and intermediate professions such as LinkedIn, ReKrute, Amal Job or Menara Job.
A comparison of major employment sites, all categories combined, clearly shows that the Moroccan player ReKrute.com remains the market leader and maintains the trust of Moroccans. We also note significant audience growth, more than doubling in the last eight months, unlike all others.
Conversely, we see a drastic drop for the American company LinkedIn, which has been present in Morocco for several years. Its traffic has fallen by more than half in recent months, with a downward trend confirmed. Is it its recent acquisition by Microsoft, leading to a potential change of strategy and a shift towards other activities? Or is it simply a market slowdown and unfulfilled expectations? Especially since we know that 90.4% of job seekers use an online recruitment site compared to only 31.37% who use their professional network, and therefore tools like LinkedIn (study conducted in March 2015 by ReKrute among more than 5,000 people).
Finally, regarding other Moroccan players such as Menara or Amaljob, there is little change, with constant and regular but still relatively low traffic.
To help you clarify things and answer the famous question "What to choose when I want to recruit / change jobs?", you can find above a comparative chart of the main generalist job boards in September 2016.
