IT Recruitment: Insights from Capgemini Maroc
The IT sector, known for its dynamic growth in recent years, experienced a slight decline in recruitment in 2024, decreasing from 12% to 9%, according to the latest industry analyses. How can this trend be explained? Ilham Mouhriz, VP Head of HR at Capgemini Maroc, shares her perspective and outlook for 2025:
How do you explain the slight decline in IT recruitment in 2024, and do you think this downward trend will persist in 2025?
The IT sector, which has been particularly dynamic in recent years, saw a slight decline in recruitment in 2024, dropping from 12% to 9%, according to the latest sector analyses. This evolution primarily reflects a natural stabilization after a period marked by high demand for IT skills, particularly in the post-pandemic context where digital transformation was a priority for many companies.
This stabilization is also a sign of increased maturity in the sector. While companies continue to invest in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, they are increasingly focusing on a more deliberate and optimized management of talent, as well as the evolution of internal skills to meet their needs.
At Capgemini Maroc, we remain confident about the prospects for 2025. With the acceleration of technological innovation, coupled with the emergence of new needs related to issues such as sustainability and cybersecurity, the IT job market is expected to maintain a positive dynamic.
The key will be to continue focusing on attracting, training, and retaining the best talents to support these transformations. These strategic levers are essential to anticipate our clients’ needs and remain at the forefront of innovations shaping the future.
