According to the Robert dictionary, Curriculum Vitae is a Latin expression meaning Course of Life. It is about presenting yourself, detailing your marital status, diplomas obtained, or your level of education acquired. It is also good to mention your professional experiences and, in general, any acquired skills that may interest the recruiter.
Writing a CV is one of the major steps in applying for a job. Indeed, the CV is your business card, which will inform about your skills and your professional profile. It is a real tool of seduction and therefore of sales.
A few tips to enhance your profile with recruiters.
The CV includes:
- Marital status
- A title: We will absolutely avoid the mentions "CV" or "Curriculum vitae", the format is clear enough to indicate what it is. We will prefer a title related to the main diploma.
- Start and end dates of experience (years), possibly the duration for internships less than 1 year,
- The position held,
- The company name,
- The sector of activity,
- The company's workforce and its annual turnover,
- The challenges of the position, the performance, the results obtained and the achievements,
- Training and diplomas,
- Specific skills,
- Spoken and written languages, with the level (Ex: notions, spoken, fluent spoken, written),
- Holding a driving license, a particular qualification,
- Mastery of computer tools.
Among the simple rules concerning a CV, let us remember:
- The necessary presence of your training and your experience, your computer and language skills.
- The need not to detail your career too much to keep some suspense, so that the recruiter wants to see you.
(As an indication, it is recommended not to exceed one page before 4 years of professional experience.)

- You have read and reread it and that each word is weighed, evaluated.
- You have had it proofread by your entourage.
- Your information is all up-to-date.
