Based on testimonies from recent graduates, we highlighted the five most difficult situations experienced during a first job, trying to give you, with the advice of recruiters, solutions to bounce back.
From the start, you are very independent in organizing your work. This behavior displeases your manager who checks and controls everything you do. This lack of trust demotivates you. Or your boss makes demeaning criticisms and remarks, even in front of your colleagues...
The pros' advice: don't let yourself be trapped in this power relationship. Arrange a meeting with your manager to tell them that you can no longer continue like this, recalling the facts and clearly setting limits. A discussion is sometimes enough to smooth things over. If no solution is found during your probationary period, you either resign (without entitlement to unemployment benefits), or negotiate a dismissal with your employer before the end of the probationary period.
