The history of Philip Morris International (PMI) in Morocco dates back to 1981 when PMI opened a representative office to support the company’s flagship brand Marlboro. In 2009, PMI signed a license agreement with Altadis Maroc to manufacture Marlboro locally and, as a result, the first ‘Made in Morocco’ Marlboro was made available to Moroccan adult smokers later that year. In order to support our growing business in Morocco, Philip Morris Maroc S.A.R.L., a new PMI affiliate, was established in July 2009.
